Alvin Brings A Date!

Alvin, in his usual flamboyant self, asked me earlier if he can bring a "date" to dinner. It was someone he wanted me to meet and basically, let him know what I think of him. Now, I am not one to judge based on what they look like but Alvin has expressed more than a passing interest with this guy. And Alvin meets some of the more interesting guys that I know!

So I met Erwin. Well, to start with, I don't know why Alvin didn't tell this guy that we're having dinner at someplace fancier than McDonald's. Erwin was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of jeans. I am not judging but come on, shouldn't he have told Erwin to dress up a little? I thought this is going to be a long, strange night. And Erwin, to his credit, does not disappoint. He is sooo quiet that I was afraid that he would blend in with the furniture if he doesn't say anything! And he is almost always deferring to Alvin about what to eat, what to drink or even what to say! Alvin has previously mentioned that Erwin is a fairly shy guy. In fact, Alvin is afraid that Erwin can "get lost in a crowd".

But I also notice how Erwin looks at Alvin. How he holds Alvin's hands. How he talks to Alvin. How his entire body was focused on Alvin. And I said, "Whoa!" This is going to be interesting.
The intensity of his feelings for Alvin is palpable. It's something unlike I have seen before. Does Alvin deserve all these? I mean, Erwin is a great looking guy, has a great job, looks comfortable with who he is and is, obviously, head over heels in love with Alvin. In his quiet but very powerful way, Erwin was "telling" everyone how much he cares for Alvin.

They look good together. Now, if only I can talk some sense to that Alvin...
