Big Things Do Come In Small Packages

This is way past cool! Apple has come out with the nano iPod. Colored screen, 1000 songs in 4GB, 14 hour battery life, thinner than most cell phones. You can even load your favorite pics in it and watch a slideshow while music is playing. You can create a playlist where certain pics are shown while certain songs are playing. The familiar click wheel is still there and so are the functions of its bigger relatives. The sound is as awesome like the bigger iPods. I'm in love with it!
Of course, I have some beef about it. Owing to the screen size, images are displayed small. You're going to have to squint to see some of the pic details. There is no way to zoom in on the image. You can't fit 1000 songs if you also uploaded pics. Either one has to give: images or music, as there is only a finite amount of space for both. The headset jack is on the bottom of the unit which makes it hard to stuff this in your pocket without bending the headset wires. There is a lanyard coming soon where one could hang the nano iPod around the neck with the headset built in. It still hangs upside down though. And would make you look the Apple geek that you are. I don't know if that's a bad thing or not...
But like everything else, I got one. In black, of course. I do have a mini iPod already and I was thinking of upgrading to the 20GB iPod but this nano is just cool, awesome technology. I may still get a bigger iPod eventually. Come to think of it, I don't even like 1000 songs much less 5000!
In gay lingo, this nano iPod would qualify as "Shanghai surprise"...it may look small to the eye but don't let that fool you. It lasts longer than previous generation iPods, prettier to look at (and be seen with), won't ever leave you and you don't have to cook breakfast for it after a night in bed!
