Really Random Thoughts...

1. Just got back from a dinner with a friend (okay, an ex...). It's his birthday and I didn't even know he's in town. We went to one of our favorite restaurants (Town Hall) in the city. He moved from Manila to New York a long time ago and he's here on business and to spend Thanksgiving with his relatives in southern Cali. It is always good to see him. We talked about our common friends and the whole time, all I could think of were the "what ifs". But that's all in the past. I am glad to hear that he has finally moved on and is now dating someone seriously. At the end of the evening, he hugged me and said that he was glad that he spent part of his birthday with me. I kissed him goodnight and we went our separate ways. Once more. And this time, for good.

2. What do you call someone who messes around with his friend's current fling? (For a lack of a better word, I'm using the word "fling".) A friend meets a guy on the internet and introduces the guy to "someone". "Someone" didn't know what was going on and decides to mess around with the guy. The guy willingly submits to the sexual advances and even helps pull down his short and underwear. He even catches his breath but couldn't reallys ay anything just in case the friend was still awake. Then the guy stops what was going on because he probably realized that he should be with the friend. That was that. Then the friend and the guy continue what they started. "Someone" laughs softly behind their backs... what a slut.

3. Winter isn't here yet officially; in fact, San Francisco has never been this warm. It's been in the 70's for the last week and a half. But right next to the winter boots and scarves at Gucci are the slides, flipflops and sandals for spring! Helleur, let me have the chance to wear the boots I bought before starting to think about spring! But of course, I would order two pairs of the slides...hehehe. They should be here next week. Imelda: eat your heart out!

4. I have never thought of the similarities of the guys (straight or gay) whom I find attractive but a good friend pointed them out to me tonight. He said that the guys I am attracted to are smart, witty, funny, can stand up against me, AND quirky in their own way. He may have a point there. I guess I would now be more conscious about it.

5. This will be the third year that I will not spend the Christmas holidays at home. Somehow, this is becoming a non-issue. I used to wonder how can people spend the holidays away from their families and feel sorry for them. But it's like wishing for snow in Hawaii on December, too. I now understand the different circumstances that people find themselves in around this time of the year. You just have to make it the holidays wherever you might be. I will be in the Philippines but I will be travelling with my brother and his family and will have the traditional Christmas at my sister-in-law's parents in Bacolod. I am looking forward to that.
